ANCCE-LGPRE Breeder & Owner Codes for PRE Owners
APPLICATION FOR AN ANCCE-LGPRE HORSE OWNER CODE (Service 802) or ANCCE-LGPRE BREEDER CODE (Service 700)
YOU WILL NEED AN ANCCE-LGPRE HORSE OWNER CODE (Codigo Ganadero) if you want to:-
- Change the Recorded ownership of your PRE on the Spanish PRE Central Studbook (ANCCE-LGPRE)
- Show your horse in the ANCCE Affiliated Classes at any UK or overseas Horse Show
YOU WILL NEED AN ANCCE-LGPRE BREEDER CODE (Codigo Criador) if you want to:-
- Change the Recorded ownership of your PRE on the Spanish PRE Central Studbook (ANCCE-LGPRE)
- Show your horse in the ANCCE Affiliated Classes at any UK or overseas Horse Show
- Grade or Evaluate a PRE youngster for Breeding,
- Use or Stand a PRE Stallion at Stud on PRE, Arab, or Hispano-Arab mares,
- Breed from a PRE mare,
- Register and Inscribe a PRE foal into the Spanish Studbook (ANCCE-LGPRE)
ANCCE-LGPRE will NOT do any work for you without you having your own LGPRE Code (Codigo). This is a Code you only need to obtain once, and will remain valid throughout your PRE owning life.
Note 1. You can make address changes and surname changes etc whilst keeping the same Code.
Note 2. You CANNOT upgrade an Owner Code to a Breeder Code. You have to apply for a NEW Code and transfer the horses again
Click HERE for the downloadable Application Form FOR A BREEDER or OWNER CODE. Please read all the instructions on the application form carefully including the small print !!
You MUST supply a Personal Identity Number (ID) for yourself on the application form and this will also be used on other ANCCE forms, eg., each time you complete the back of an ANCCE Carta de Propiedad (Ownership Card) for ANCCE Service 619 (Change of Ownership in Spain). Usually your ID will be your Driving Licence or your Passport, the ID document must be VALID and in your current Name and Address. Either Email a good quality COLOUR JPG (about 450 to 900kb) of your chosen ID doc as an attachment to Mary McBryde at bapshregistrar@btinternet.com or make a COLOUR Photocopy of the ID document and post to BAPSH attached to the Code application form. This ID document will be uploaded to the ANCCE Studbook files as part of the application process.
The cost of an ANCCE-LGPRE Owner Code is currently £50.00, and the Breeder Code is currently £210.00

Complete very clearly the personal information asked for on the form including the Studfarm address even if it is the same as your home address. Use your FULL NAME exactly as on your ID Document. Then SIGN and DATE the form, and attach the copy of your Identity Document, send back to the BAPSH Registry Service office with your cheque (Payable to BAPSH Ltd), or email Mary McBryde at bapshregistrar@btinternet.com to request the Account details for a direct Bank Transfer to the BAPSH Registry Account.
YOU CANNOT REGISTER AN ANCCE-LGPRE CODE IN A PARTNERSHIP OR JOINT NAMES. YOU CAN ONLY REGISTER AN ANCCE-LGPRE CODE AS AN INDIVIDUAL OR AS A COMPANY or LLP (which must be registered with Companies House, UK)
IMPORTANT:- The Box labelled ‘NAME OF THE STUDFARM’ OR ‘FARM NAME’ – DOES NOT REFER TO YOUR ADDRESS !!! This wording will be the name which will be permanently attached directly to your ANCCE-LGPRE Breeder or Owner Code and it CANNOT be changed without applying for a NEW CODE. The ‘Farm Name’ will appear on all your paperwork in the future and will be on the foal’s passports as the name of the Breeder if you are going to breed PREs.
It is important therefore to choose a name you like and one that will still make sense if you move address in the future. It can be your own name – many people in Spain and here use their own names, others have a company name. Some people create a unique Studfarm Name to be linked to their ANCCE-LGPRE Breeder or Owner code which may also be registered with BAPSH Ltd to become their AFFIX for registering their foals if they are breeding PREs (Affix application form)
NOTE: Many people in the UK have a commercial/advertisiing studfarm name which is different to the ANCCE-LGPRE Farm Name attached to the breeder code because the rules have changed a lot in recent years. The senior breeders do not want to change their Breeder Code in order to rationalize the plethora of names because this would also require the senior breeder to transfer the ownership of every horse they own from the old Code to the new Code – very expensive !!!!.
